Q: Do I need a race License to get on the track with Southern Track Days?
A: No you do not all you need is the desire to improve your riding skill level.
Q: How do I know if this track stuff is for me?
A: Do you love your bike? Do you want to ride it as it was designed to be ridden? Do you wonder what it’s like to ride on a closed track? Do you want to improve as a street rider? If you responded to any of these with a yes than the track is for you. We find very few that do not take to it like an addiction when they try it.
Q: What kinds of bikes are permitted at your events?
A: All bikes from 100 cc’s all the way to 1300 cc. Two stroke or four stroke. The only requirement is the all bikes must pass technical inspection by our staff.
Q: How about if I have never been on the track is there someone there that can help me?
A: That is what we are all about. Taking the first time rider and showing them the fundamentals of riding on the track in a safe and controlled environment. We have some of the most passionate instructors in the business for them it is a passion for the sport that drives and motivates them. They provide one on one instruction in the classroom, yes you meet after every session and debrief what you have learned and experience in a real classroom. In the classroom our instructors take you from learning the basic race line to working on your body position. Our classroom instruction is copied by many but never duplicated and the best part is it’s free!
Q: What do track days cost and what do I get?
A: The cost depends on the track and unlike other track organizations we are not about the bottom line. We are about making sure that our riders have the best time of their lives at a minimal cost. Most events start at $120 a day and go up depending on the venue. Some venues we are limited to 50 riders so those events fill quickly. At our events you can count on always having Factory Tire Support for our professional Bridgestone dealer. At some events we have Suspension Gurus to help you set your bike up at a minimal cost. You get classroom instruction for the Novice group and One on One coaching in the Intermediate / Advance groups.
Q: What is the format of the sessions?
A: We usually run 15 to 20 min sessions depending on the weather and temperature. Safety is our most important consideration and in as such the length of sessions is very important..
Q: What is the cancellation policy? What happens if I crash?
A: As with all outdoor events this is rain or shine. There are no refunds for weather related incidents unless an act of god prohibits us from conducting the event. In those cases a makeup event will scheduled. There are no cancellations but riders may sell their spot with prior written approval from Southern Track days. Crashing sometimes happens in these events and after a crash the bike has to be inspected to ensure that it is safe to ride. If your bike is not safe then you will not be permitted to continue. We do not provide refunds or gift certificates to riders that crash out.
Q: Can I sign up for one day and if I like it do the second day?
A: Yes you can but if the second day is full you will not be able to sign up.
Q: How many riders do you permit on the track at one time?
A: We are by far the only track day organization that limits it numbers to 25 riders per group. This ensures that you have plenty of track time.
Q: Is there a waiting list for sold out events?
A: Yes there is just look on the registration page. Fill out the form and our staff will contact you when a sport opens up. Remember first come first serve.
Q: can I register online for my tracks days?
A: Of course you can. Just go to the schedule button at the top and register for the event that you wish to participate in. Some events do not open for registration till 60 days prior. You can also send us an email from the contact us page or you call us at 954-324-7834.
Q: What do I have to bring with me to the track?
A: Usually we suggest an ez up or some sort of device that can provide you shade. Plenty of water so that you can hydrate. These are the most important but this list varies with each rider.
